Shape the Future of Hydraulic Technology

Our partner company is a well-established international engineering and manufacturing organization operating in the field of advanced hydraulic solutions for mobile and industrial applications. Their products are utilized in demanding environments where performance, reliability, and innovation are critical.

To support ongoing product development and business growth, we are seeking a Team Lead, Mechanical Design Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team.

About the Role

This position combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering work. You will play a key role in guiding a team of designers while contributing to the development of hydraulic products and systems used in demanding machinery applications.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of mechanical engineering, hydraulics, product development, and team leadership. You will be involved in both new product development and the continuous enhancement of existing solutions, helping bring innovative hydraulic technologies from concept to reality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of mechanical design engineers.
  • Participate in the design and development of hydraulic products, systems, and machinery-related solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and engineering drawings.
  • Develop and review hydraulic schematics and system concepts.
  • Support customer-specific development projects and product customization activities.
  • Contribute to the lifecycle management and continuous improvement of existing products.
  • Collaborate closely with production, sourcing, service, quality, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and share best practices within the engineering team.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in mechanical design and product development within an industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and their practical operation.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and develop hydraulic schematics.
  • Experience with 3D CAD design tools, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Familiarity with Windchill PLM.
  • Ability to support and guide engineers with varying levels of experience.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Fluent Finnish and English language skills, both written and spoken.

Considered an Advantage

  • Experience with hydraulic system design software such as E3 or similar tools.
  • Previous experience in a technical leadership, senior engineering, or mentoring role.
  • Background in mobile machinery, fluid power systems, industrial equipment, or related engineering sectors.

Who You Are

You are a technically capable engineer who enjoys helping others succeed. You understand not only how components are designed, but also how complete hydraulic systems function in real-world applications.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, communicate effectively across departments, and are comfortable acting as a technical sounding board for both colleagues and stakeholders. Most importantly, you bring a genuine interest in hydraulic technology and a desire to develop both products and people.

What’s on Offer

  • Opportunity to work with advanced hydraulic technologies and innovative engineering solutions.
  • Meaningful leadership responsibilities while remaining close to technical development work.
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment where knowledge sharing is encouraged.
  • Exposure to a wide variety of product development and customer-driven projects.
  • Hybrid working model following the onboarding period.
  • Fixed-term employment with the potential for a long-term career opportunity.

If you are passionate about hydraulics, product development, and technical leadership, this is an opportunity to make a significant impact in a company where engineering excellence drives success.
