Your role

You will lead the design, development, and validation of embedded firmware for high-reliability UPS and critical power systems. Working in a global team, you’ll architect real-time solutions using state machines and control algorithms, develop C++ firmware on RTOS, and deliver robust features that meet strict performance, safety, and reliability targets.

You’ll own end-to-end development: requirements analysis, implementation, documentation, and verification. The role includes hands-on debugging in high-voltage lab environments, building automated test plans/frameworks, applying modern DevOps practices (Git, CI, issue tracking), and mentoring junior engineers while collaborating cross-functionally.

Background requirements:

• Current residency in Finland and ability to be on-site 3 days/week
• Fluency in English; excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s in Electrical or related Engineering with 8+ years of embedded firmware experience, or Master’s with 5+ years

​

Must-have skills:

• Strong real-time embedded systems expertise (RTOS such as FreeRTOS)
• Proven C++ embedded development in resource-constrained environments
• Expertise in designing and debugging state machines and control algorithms
• Application-, driver-, and OS-level understanding of embedded processors
• Hands-on testing and debugging in high-voltage lab environments with strict safety practices
• Solid understanding of 3-phase power systems and electrical schematics
• Experience with automated testing; Robot Framework and Python preferred
• Proficiency with Git, issue tracking (e.g., Jira), and continuous integration
• Understanding of signal processing and timing constraints in embedded systems

Good-to-have (Preferred but not mandatory):

• Power electronics or UPS domain experience
• Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems and model-based design
• Linux knowledge; experience with profilers and advanced debuggers
• Experience analyzing and troubleshooting electrical and control systems
• Mentoring experience and collaboration across global teams
