The goal of the project is to increase the productivity and performance of companies by developing their diversity and inclusivity. Diversity and inclusivity have proven to provide significant benefits for companies, including increased wellbeing, innovativeness, and profit.
In the 2020s companies in Pohjois-Pohjanmaa face a myriad of changes that create challenges for success and growth. Recruitment and employee training and development are some of the largest challenges of micro and SME - companies. In Pohjois-Pohjanmaa, the recruitment needs for ICT - experts are annually 2000-3000 people. Unfortunately, not enough people are graduating from universities and as the population structure changes with more and more people retiring than entering the workforce, it’s crucial to focus on the well-being of the current workforce, increase the productivity of companies and find new talent potential in international talent.
Goals of the project:
1.Improve productivity, leadership, and the wellbeing of employees by developing inclusive solutions in companies to increase the wellbeing of international talent.
2.Supporting companies to recruit international talent with diverse and inclusive solutions.
3.Organizing events to improve the well-being of international talent
4.Implementing diversity and inclusivity tools and processes in companies
5.Successful project management and communication.

The project has been divided into five work packages.
WP 1: Inclusivity and diversity training for companies. Diversity and inclusivity survey conducted for companies and international talent
WP 2: Inclusive recruitment training for companies
WP 3: Events to increase the well-being of international talent working in SMEs
WP 4: Project management and stakeholder communications
AP 5: Creating a model and guidebook to increase diversity and inclusivity in companies.
As a result of the project, companies’ productivity will increase by developing diversity and inclusivity. Increased diversity and inclusivity will improve the work culture, productivity, innovativeness, resilience, and profitability of the companies. The project will also positively affect the recruitment processes and provide a bigger pool of applicants to open positions.
During the planning of the project, horizontal principles have been taken into account. The project especially promotes equality and wellbeing of international talent. The project follows all horizontal principles and prefers ecological options in its activities.
